If MAYB Nationals in Wichita, Kansas are any indication, the future is very bright for Team Trae Young.
The TTY Class of 2026 dominated the 64-team tournament and walked away as the 7th Grade Boys Champions.
Team Trae opened pool play on Friday, July 30 with three wins, topping KC Power 67-20, Marcus Denmon 51-49, and Elite Ballaz 52-6. That gave TTY a bye into the second round of the winners bracket on Saturday. There, they played their toughest game of the tournament, but came out on top 52-51 over Nebraska United. Later that same day, in the quarterfinals, Team Trae defeated All Missouri Attack 58-25.
Sundays semifinals and finals also featured two tight contest, but TTY 2026 prevailed, first defeating Spartans Elite Rome by a score of 64-55 in the semifinal. Then in the Final, the boys captured the title by winning 78-75 over Young Athletic Elite 2026 Gold.
