The Team Trae Young 17U Boys 3SSB team is closing their 2024 AAU campaign on a high note.

TTYs 17s grinded through six games in six days in Rock Hill, South Carolina, at the Adidas Boys 3SSB Palmetto Road Championships, winning all six to claim the 24 Team Classic bracket championship.

The week in Rock Hill began with a showcase game against We Rise Elite and the TTY boys put it all out there in a 40-point win.

Jaylen Lawal, a burgeoning prospect from the Class of 2025, led the way with 18 points, four steals and three rebounds. Jalen Haynes (2024) added 10 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals.

The victory sent the TTY 17s into the 24 Team Classic with some momentum and they withstood a tough challenge from Anthony Edwards Five in Wednesday’s first round game to hold on for a 64-60 victory. Lawal and Haynes were at it again in the victory. This time Haynes led the way with 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals while Lawal posted 12 points, six rebounds and four assists in the win.

In the second round on Thursday, TTY faced off against TJ Ford Elite and once again pulled out a narrow four-point win. Lawal posted a double-double in that one with 19 points and 13 boards along with five assists and a pair of steals. Jax Kerr (2025) had his biggest game of the week with 15 points and four rebounds and Haynes had his third straight double-digit scoring game with 10 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists.

Friday’s quarterfinal game was Team Trae’s only rout of the tournament as they dropped Esface College Prep 82-62 as the trio of Lawal, Kerr and Haynes continued to shine.

Jaylen Lawal raised his game once again with a 23-point effort, adding four rebounds. Kerr pitched in 14 points and three boards and Haynes kept his average over 10 with 11 points and two boards in the W, which sent TTY to the semifinals.

In Saturday’s semifinal matchup, TTY held off MR 22 Elite for a 60-58 win to advance to the Finals. Lawal kept up his excellent play with 17 points, five rebounds, five steals and four assists in the victory.

In the final round on Sunday morning, Team Trae finished their incredible week and run with a flurry as they took down K-Low Elite 64-60 to emerge as the winners of the 24 Team Classic.
