Inside the friendly confines of the Young Family Athletic Center, the Team Trae Young adidas 3SSB Girls 17U team continued their perfect start to the 2024 summer season and two of their stars earned top honors for the weekend.

McKenzie Mathurin was named overall tournament MVP and Keziah Lofton was named tournament defensive MVP as the TTY 3SSB 17s improved to 8-0 in three stripes play and 16-0 overall with a 4-0 weekend at YFAC.

The 17U 3SSB team posted a margin of victory of more than 23 points per game and Mathurin and Lofton dominated. In addition to their MVP honors, both girls were selected to the All-Tournament First Team and Lofton was named First Team All-Defense.

McKenzie was a scoring machine, averaging 22.3 points per game.

Keziah was impressive on both sides of the ball, averaging a double-double with 17.5 points and 10 rebounds per game while also blocking three shots per game on defense.

Seleh Harmon and Rieyan DeSouze also had strong showings, and DeSouze was tournament leader at 17U in assists per game.

TTY tipped things off on Friday with a 68-44 win over Meta Hoops. McKenzie led the way with 19 points, two rebounds and two blocks.

Keziah had 15 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks, three steals and two assists in the 24-point victory while Maddi Stewart pitched in 10 points, eight rebounds and two steals.

Saturday’s opener was the most hotly contested game of the weekend for the team, but they pulled out a 71-57 win over Della Lamb.

Mathurin and Lofton once again led the way. McKenzie scored 24 points, including four threes and also had a pair steals while Keziah scored 21 points, grabbed six rebounds and added three assists and a pair of blocks.

In Saturday’s second game, McKenzie went off, scoring 31 points as Team Trae defeated United Family 79-43. Mathurin also had four steals in the win while Keziah had another double-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks and two assists.

In the final game of the weekend, the dynamic duo continued their dominance in a 63-42 win over Texas LoneStar. Keziah went for her third double-double of the weekend with 17 points, 12 rebounds, three blocks and two assists and McKenzie had 16 points and five rebounds.

16U

The Team Trae Young 3SSB 16U Girls also continued to show growth during Session II despite some tough losses.

Johari Hall (2026) continued her impressive season with another eye-popping weekend.

Sami Sheaffer put up some more 3 and D highlights that are sure to gain the attention of scouts.

The TTY 15U 3SSB squad rounded things out with a 3-1 weekend, including one of the best games of the weekend, a 71-69 over Lady Jets, coached by NBA Legend Jason Terry.
