After months of anticipation, the Team Trae Young Girls got their grassroots season started in earnest over the weekend with Session I of the adidas 3SSB Circuit in Bryan, Texas, and the results were overwhelmingly positive across the board.

At the 17U level, the TTY ladies went unbeaten, winning all four of their games in absolutely dominant fashion. They opened things up on Friday with a 64-28 victory over AEBL. The girls opened up the game red-hot and scored 32 of the first 34 points of the game.

Seleh Harmon led the way with 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting.

McKenzie Mathurin was right behind with 18 points and also had two blocks and two steals.

Rieyan DeSouze had another great game, scoring 12 points and grabbing three steals.

The team also got a phenomenal performance from Maddie Stewart, who grabbed 12 rebounds, dished out seven assists, scored five points and remarkably had five steals in the win.

Over the next two days, the 17U girls picked up three more wins, topping ALL IN 17U 56-25, AK Rivals 61-27 and Sizzles 64-35.

At the 16U level, Team Trae went 2-2. They began the weekend with a big 48-27 win over Della Lamb.

Saturday’s action saw them drop their first game 71-64 to AK Rivals, but they bounced back late Saturday with a 41-37 win over ALL IN 16U.

In the last game of the weekend they unfortunately fell 62-41 to United Family. The weekend saw standout performances from Skylar Anderson, Johari Hall and Ky’liin Johnson-Cooper.

For the 15U girls, it was also a perfect weekend as they won all four of their games, getting increasingly dominant as the weekend went on. On Friday, they opened the session with a tight one, beating Hardwood Elite 68-55.

They began Saturday with a 27-point win over AK Rivals (57-30) and finished the day with a 36-point dub, 70-34 over Texas elite Prime. In the finale on Sunday, the margin was once again 30, as they won 54-24 over Meta Hoops.

All told, TTY teams went 10-2 in Session I, an incredible start to what is sure to be a great season.
