For Team Trae Young’s 15U-17U boys teams, this past weekend’s Duel in DFW and Prep Hoops Circuit tournaments presented an opportunity to work and get better ahead of next week’s 3SSB opening weekend.

At the Duel in DFW, the Team Trae 17U squad won all three of their games, defeating Southbay Show (71-52), Virginia Elite (69-64) and SA Future PRO16 (62-52).

Carlsheon Young was the standout of the weekend, earning All-Circuit First Team and 17U MVP honors by averaging 16.7 points per game, 5.2 assists per game and 3.2 rebounds per game.

Jaylen Lawal also turned some heads and earned All-Circuit First Team selection, averaging 14.3 points per game..

The TTY 16U teams faced a gauntlet, and despite going 1-2, with a win over Team Temple (66-62) NY2LA and losses to Drive Nation (56-49) and Houston Hoops (53-50). Their effort in all three games left nothing to hang their heads about.

In fact, many of the 16U players drew rave reviews, especially from Baller IQ’s Jay Frye, who highlighted Bryce Dixon, J’den Shields and Cash Chism.

Frye is particularly high on Bryce Dixon, who was named First Team All-Circuit after averaging 17.3 points, 3 rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block, per game. Dixon, who is playing up at 16U as a 15-year-old, garnered a full and glowing scouting report from Frye.

TTY’s 15U team went 1-2 in Dallas, defeating ATX Lockdown (60-50). Eden Litherland and Josiah Ankrah each earned All-Circuit Third Team honors after averaging better than 10 points per game, and Jalen Batiste was an All-Circuit Honorable Mention.

A new addition to the Team Trae Young Family, Team TNEREFFID 15U, cleaned up at their Prep Hoops Circuit stop, winning all four games they played.
