Team Trae Young alum Kiara Smith made her college decision official on National Signing Day, committing to Lindenwood University.
Kiara has been the backbone of the TTY 17U girls for the last two years, and helped lead the girls to a runner-up finish at Nationals in 2022. Now she’ll take her game to the Missouri school, which currently plays in the Ohio Valley Conference.

“We are excited to add Kiara Smith to our Lindenwood women’s basketball family,” said Lindenwood coach Amy Eagan. “We have been recruiting Kiara and her family for many years and I know we have signed not only a phenomenal basketball player, but a great person!”
Kiara is from Oklahoma City and was rated the No. 2 point guard in the state before an ACL injury ended her season last January. She has been cleared to play her senior season at Douglass High School in OKC this winter.
Lindenwood recently made the jump from NCAA Division II to Division I and Kiara is one of their most high-profile signings since making the leap.
“Kiara will bring so many things to our program, but I am so excited about the intensity, athleticism, drive, and competitiveness she brings on the defensive side of the ball,” Eagan said. I look forward to getting her on campus and getting to work.”
