Team Trae Young’s 17U program continued to barrel full steam ahead toward the Adidas Championships next month by dominating some top level competition at The Circuit’s Juneteenth Invitational in Dallas.

The 17U program won all three of their games in Dallas and Doryan Onwuchekwa earned tournament MVP honors, with a star-making performance that included a buzzer-beating game-tying three in a game Team Trae went on to win in overtime. DO also earned All Event Team honors along with teammate Isaac Williams Jr. Bo Aldridge was named Honorable Mention All-Event Team.

Team Trae opened the weekend with two incredible wins on Saturday.

First up was a 49-42 win over Family Ties.

Then came the overtime thriller. Team Trae trailed late, but after some ball movement the ball found Doryan Onwuchekwa, who drilled a three right before the buzzer to send the game to overtime tied at 72-72.

He added six more points in overtime as Team Trae pulled out a 80-72 win.

Then in the final game of the weekend, DO put an exclamation point on an incredible session with a highlight-reel play that saw him throw an alley-oop to himself during a 74-52 win over EAD Elite.
