The Team Trae Young Girls 16U and 17U teams waited nearly a month to get back to action after their last tournament, and they made Prep Girls Hoops’ Duel for the Dynasty worth the wait, racking up wins and accolades over two days in Dallas.

The 17U team went 3-1 over the weekend. They opened things with a hard fought 50-49 win over Team Griffin Elite on Saturday thanks to a strong performance by Keeley Parks.

The 16U team split a pair of games on Saturday, defeating Oklahoma Swift 2024 51-44 just a couple hours after a tough 48-35 loss to Texas Platinum. The star of that pair of games was Kyiah Prestridge.

Sunday’s session had the 17U team in action three times, a tough grind of a schedule, which began with a 57-52 loss to Lady Jets first thing in the morning .

However, they won their final two, defeating True Texas Hoops 51-43 and Texas Platinum 41-30. Several TTY 17U players were recognized for their performances in the tournament. Tiani Ellison was named to the All Tournament First Team while Kiara Smith was recognized as a Top Performer, Keeley Parks was recognized as a Shooter/Scorer, Kayla Jones was recognized as an Inside Presence and Elle Papahronis got some love for her scoring as well.

On the 16U side, Sunday was a copy of Saturday, with a tough 48-46 loss to Lady Jets followed by a big 54-32 win over True Texas Hoops. Kyiah Prestridge and Seleh Harmon were named to the All Tournament First Team for their efforts in guiding the squad to a 2-2 mark for the weekend. Seleh was also selected as a Top Performer for Sunday.

Halyn Browning was selected to the All Tournament Second Team and Skylar Anderson was picked as a Scorer to Watch.
