Team Trae Young was back in action this weekend at the adidas 3SSB South Carolina, and got another huge weekend from Ja’Kobe Walter and Kaden Cooper while winning a pair of games against elite competition.

A slew of college coaches were in attendance on Friday night for TTY’s opener against Utah Prospects and saw the two teams engage in one of the best battles of the weekend.

Though Utah Prospects eventually got the best of Team Trae, 61-59, it wasn’t through lack of effort. Cooper and Walter combined to score 49 of Team Trae’s 59 points. Ja’Kobe, who was ranked the No. 17 prospect in the Class of 2023 by ESPN last week https://twitter.com/teamtraeyoungmb/status/1517186211131150336, tallied 27 points.

Cooper, who recently received an offer from National Champion Kansas (https://twitter.com/kaden580/status/1516585950620667905) added 22 points.

Saturday morning’s session saw TTY faced with another tough challenge in the form of D1 Minnesota, and they evened their record for the weekend with a balanced effort in a 70-67 victory. Ja’Kobe poured in another 25 points, and was one of four players with at least nine points, including Kaden, Sebastian Perry and Dink Pate.

Ja’Kobe’s red-hot weekend continued in the Saturday evening session as he scored the team’s final 14 points as part of a 33-point performance in a 62-61 TTY victory over Arkansas Hawks.

In Sunday’s final session, TTY fought to finish with another win, but couldn’t pull out the W, falling 74-64 to New World.
