The second weekend of the 2022 adidas 3SSB Circuit season was another big one for Team Trae Young 17U, with strong performances up and down the roster en route to a 3-1 record.

Ja’Kobe Walter led the way once again, averaging 25.5 points per game as TTY won three of four and the weekend featured standout performances from Kaden Cooper, Jacobe Johnson and Sebastian Perry.

Team Trae tipped off the weekend on Friday night with a hard fought 76-68 victory over Team Rose.

The boys then kept the momentum going on Saturday morning with a 65-56 win over Garner Road. Jacobe Johnson contributed to a breakout weekend, shooting the ball and finishing around the rim very well.

The afternoon session saw Team Trae lock up in one of the best battles of the weekend, going back and forth with Team Loaded. Though TTY lost the game 68-54, Kaden Cooper got the attention of onlookers with his defensive play and effort in transition.

Kaden’s play also attracted the attention of college scouts, and the rising senior ended the weekend with offers from Texas, Oklahoma, Creighton, Omaha, and Kent State.

Team Trae entered action on Sunday looking to end the session on a high note and did just that, defeating Southeast Elite 77-64. Sebastian Perry finished off a solid weekend with 17 points in the winning effort and Ja’Kobe poured in 35 points in the victory.
